Hamtramck School-Based Health Center - Click on Down Arrow For More Info

The busy center, located in Hamtramck High for convenient access, is an essential stopgap that keeps children from slipping through health care gaps. In a district with no school nurse and a city with no municipal health department, the clinic serves children from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as preschool siblings.

The hospital provides professional staff, diagnostic services, immunizations (2,800 in 2011), other preventive care, treatment, family support and referrals – all without billing so every student is eligible. A pediatrician oversees a nurse practitioner with 35 years of experience, social worker and a medical assistant.
